All Roads to Sharjah Book Authority’s New Home Completed
BY MATOVU ABDALLAH TWAHA SHARJAH All roads and inland routes heading to Sharjah Book Authority‘s new home in Maliha commercial zone just off Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road have been completed, announced the Chairmanofthe Roads andTransport Authority (RTA), Eng. Yousef Saleh Al Suwaijee. The DhslOm work covers a 2.1km road in addition to other internal inlets with 180 parking spaces on both sides of the road facing the SBA building. Fromthisyear, Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) will be relocating from Expo Centre Sharjah to the new home in Al Tai suburb near the intersection of Emirates Road and Maliha Road. The roads that have been constructed and renovated all tie up at the SBA headquarters. The main road of 2.1km long measures 7.3 metres wide and runs deeper by a metre of asphalt. Eng. Yousef said the project comes in accordance with the directives of the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, to expand the infrastructure projects of the Emirate to match the best international practices and high standards. “His Highness wants the road infrastructure to keep at par with the comprehensive renaissance witnessed by the Emirate in educational and cultural fields,” he said. He saidthe road construction projects that have of late defined the Emirate of Sharjah are “closely followed by the Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and also Chairman of the Executive Council, Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qassimi.”
