Date: - Dec 28, 2020

The Kalba Public Library, one of the Sharjah Public Libraries, affiliated to Sharjah Book Authority, organised a virtual training course entitled "Communication Skills", during which Aisha Al Qaidi, a certified trainer in public relations hosted, to review communication types and the importance in the reality of societies.
The course, which targeted government employees, focused on 4 topics, including the concept of communication, its steps, forms and types.

Al Qaidi indicated that the steps of communication start with forming the idea with the sender, then converting it into symbols, then conveying the idea, delivering the message, before interpreting the symbols, and ending with the behavior towards it, while the forms of communication are divided into 4 sections that include personal, verbal, written, body language communications.

Effective institutional communication, according to Al Qaidi, requires defining the needs of the communication plan, including goals, targets, stakeholder interests, opportunities and challenges, in addition to a communication plan that includes media, communication channels, and then the implementation plan.

At the end of the session, Al Qaidi organised a virtual activity in which the attendees participated, reviewing their practical experience by addressing the nature of their institutional work, and the groups that the institution targets.
