Kalba Public Library reopens its doors on 3 August

Kalba Public Library, a subsidiary of Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), has announced its plans to reopen and operate at full capacity beginning Monday, August 3, 2020. The library had been closed for the past months in line with the UAE’s precautionary procedures to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). 
From August 3, the library will remain open to the public from 08:00 am to 08:00 pm with strict safety measures in place as it welcomes book lovers, research students, academia, and other visitors. The safe environment now offers library users the opportunity to utilise the many services and amenities available at the cultural facility. 
 
Eman Bushlaibi, Director of SPL, said: “Readers and lovers of books and creativity are welcome to once again visit the Kalba Public Library where they can enjoy its wide selection of inclusive titles to bolster knowledge. The reopening is a testament to the concerted efforts of SPL in reinforcing the significance of cultural offerings in the wake of the pandemic.” 
 
The Director of SPL called on all library users to visit the Kalba Library by adhering to the relevant preventative and safety protocols to ensure their safety as well as that of the other visitors and library staff.
